Siri Chandler
Siri, a dual Thai-American national, is an MBSR teacher and Certified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher. Her genuineness, kindness and personal experience of the benefits of mindfulness infuse her courses with a special personal touch. As an enthusiastic life-long learner, she devotes her time to continuously deepening her own practice which she has been cultivating over the past 25 years. She is especially drawn to bringing mindfulness into daily life in a practical way.

Course Details

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the most scientifically tested and well-established mindfulness training program taught worldwide.
​

The curriculum is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation and mindful movement and their applications in everyday life. The course is designed to teach us how to participate fully in improving our quality of life through better management of life challenges.

Deepening your meditation practice and understanding of mindfulness

Developing positive attitudes, balance and resilience

Learning to respond rather than react to stress

Cultivating a sense of greater ease, equanimity and connection

A primary aim is to cultivate ways of being that can be utilized far beyond the completion of the program.

This highly participatory, practical course includes:

Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices

Gentle stretching and mindful movement
-
Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life

Group dialogue

Daily home practices requiring a commitment of about 45 minutes each day

Guided audio files for home practice and hand-outs

Our Approach

Siri is passionate about offering this course and will do her best to make it as meaningful and enjoyable as possible. She brings her own personal and ongoing MBSR experience and practice to her classes.

The course explores mindfulness and helpful attitudes via self-reflective exercises, small and large group discussions, and activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Class Preparation

Technology needs: A strong, reliable internet connection & access to a computer or tablet that is at least 10 inches. Phones or mini-tablets are not encouraged because they impede our ability to see each other and feel connected during group discussions.

Confidentiality and respect for privacy are important aspects of an MBSR class. Please make sure that you are joining class from a private space.

Various assignments will involve writing. Please bring a pen and notepad to each class.
​
