Course Details

  • Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the most scientifically tested and well-established mindfulness training program taught worldwide.

  • The curriculum is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation and mindful movement and their applications in everyday life.  The course is designed to teach us how to participate fully in improving our quality of life through better management of life challenges.

  • Learnings include:

    • Deepening your meditation practice and understanding of mindfulness

    • Developing positive attitudes, balance and resilience

    • Learning to respond rather than react to stress

    • Cultivating a sense of greater ease, equanimity and connection

  • A primary aim is to cultivate ways of being that can be utilized far beyond the completion of the program.

  • This highly participatory, practical course includes:

    • Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices

    • Gentle stretching and mindful movement

    • Inquiry exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life

    • Group dialogue

    • Daily home practices requiring a commitment of about 45 minutes each day

    • Guided audio files for home practice and hand-outs

Our Approach

  • Siri is passionate about offering this course and will do her best to make it as meaningful and enjoyable as possible. She brings her own personal and ongoing MBSR experience and practice to her classes.

  • The course explores mindfulness and helpful attitudes via self-reflective exercises, small and large group discussions, and activities in a safe and supportive environment.

Class Preparation

  • Technology needs: A strong, reliable internet connection & access to a computer or tablet that is at least 10 inches. Phones or mini-tablets are not encouraged because they impede our ability to see each other and feel connected during group discussions.

  • Confidentiality and respect for privacy are important aspects of an MBSR class. Please make sure that you are joining class from a private space.

  • Various assignments will involve writing. Please bring a pen and notepad to each class.

  • The course should not be used as a substitute for psychotherapy, medication or other healthcare. If you have any queries in this regard, please discuss with your health professional before applying
